Psalms 145 from 11Q5 Psalmsa A praise psalm by David. 1 I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 2 I will extol your name forever and ever. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 3 Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 4 One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 5 Of the glorious majesty of your honor, of your wondrous works, I will meditate. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 6 Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 7 They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. [..] 12 to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, the glory of the majesty of his kingdom. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 14 Yahweh upholds all who fall, and raises up all those who are bowed down. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 15 The eyes of all wait for you. You give them their food in due season. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 16 You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 17 Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 18 Yahweh is near
Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 20 Yahweh preserves all those who but all the wicked he will destroy. Praise Yahweh, and praise his name for ever and ever. 21 My mouth will speak the praise of Yahweh. Let
all flesh bless his holy

[1] The second half of verse 13 beginning “God is faithful…” is not present in the MT. The World English Bible has included the text through the word “deeds” because this is an acrostic psalm, with each verse beginning with a consecutive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. However, the verse beginning with the letter “nun” is missing in the MT. It is present in this verse of this croll. [2] This last line of Psalm 145 is apparently a postscript. Not all the words on this line of the scroll can be read. |
